About Us

We are a small group of volunteers that wanted to do something to help our furry friends in Adams County Ohio. We started transporting dogs from the Adams County Dog Pound to Veterinary Hospitals and to Rescues. It's really been a rewarding experience to help these dogs, and now cats, get a second chance to have a good life in a loving home. Adoption Fee comes with a county license.
Dogs: $20 Puppies: $30
Take your pet to the vet for an exam, shots and spay/neuter!!!
NO PULL FEES FOR APPROVED RESCUES!!!
Please be patient when calling. Only two people work at the pound. Please leave your name and phone number and what dog or dogs you are inquiring about.

Located behind the county garage across the street from the Dollar General Store off of Rt 41 West Union, Ohio
Gate is locked on weekends. Entry from Willow Drive and behind the county engineer's office.
Stop by and take home a new friend.
Bring donations of dog food, bleach, towels, blankets, Dawn, laundry detergent, paper towels, garbage bags, etc.

Why Spay/Neuter Your Pets?

The pet population continues to grow and many unwanted puppies and kittens are left to fend for themselves and dumped in the country along a back road. They have a rough go of it on their own or are taken to the pound. Some make it out of the pound to good homes. You can be responsible and have your pet spayed/neutered at your local veterinarian.

Sacred Hearts and UCAN Team Up for Affordable Spay and Neuter Services!

Beginning January 22, 2014 Sacred Hearts Animal Rescue and UCAN are teaming up to bring affordable low cost spay/neuter to Adams and surrounding counties! Email forsacredhearts@gmail.com or call 513-721-7387 and leave a message for an appointment.

Pickup location will be Winchester Ohio. First pickup is January 22, 2014, and will then be the third Wednesday of each month thereafter.

Pricing is as follows:

Female Dog

Under 75 lb - $75
75 to 100 lb - $95
Over 100 lb - $115

Male Dog

Under 75 lb - $65
75 to 100 lb - $85
Over 100 lb - $105

All cats regardless of sex are $20. Includes rabies and feline vaccinations

The Rascal Unit is a mobile vet clinic that travels to Ohio counties to provide low cost spay/neuter and routine vet services.
