About Us

We are a small group of volunteers that wanted to do something to help our furry friends in Adams County Ohio. We started transporting dogs from the Adams County Dog Pound to Veterinary Hospitals and to Rescues. It's really been a rewarding experience to help these dogs, and now cats, get a second chance to have a good life in a loving home. You can follow us on Facebook and check out what we are doing and what we have accomplished!

We also are happy to announce that we have a FB page for our rescue efforts in Adams County Ohio. We do our best to keep it updated. Check us out on ACORN Adams County Ohio Rescue Network.

The Humane Society of Adams County Ohio Needs A New Van!!!

The Humane Society of Adams County Ohio needs a van for transport and our clinic events. Our old van has approx. 250k miles on it. The driver's side door doesn't stay shut unless it is tied to the seat. There is no heat or air. The rear door latch no longer latches. The driver's seat belt is broken, and the list goes on and on! This van has transported hundreds and hundreds of dogs to safety and vet appts. We are lost without the use of this van! We aren't looking for fancy or new, just reliable and safe. We are a 501C3 and this could be a great tax deduction for someone out there.
Please consider donating a van to the Humane Society of Adams County Ohio! Thanks!

This picture is from a mobile low cost vet clinic, Rascal Unit, that comes to Adams County each month. The van is loaded to the max with dogs and puppies needing vetted. This is Christine's dog Steeler, an Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, posing in the driver's seat! He is a star! He was on Animal Planet!
